Review Lovina Beach Resort & Spa Bali:
I booked this partly based on the other reviews here, but was terribly disappointed. 2-3 is claimed to be 5 stars. Before the positive things; the staff was invariably kind and everything was new. Now for the rest. This is a large and impressive development that seems to have been built with no input from an architect.
The layout is weird, and rooms and suites (at least 3 I looked at had the strongest internal layout. Almost as if they were "designed" by someone who had stayed at the hotel once and watched a lot of magazines. Despite his age of less than 4 months there is already evidence of wear, choice and creation of sub-standard quality substandard material.
The development is very rude to the local beach, rude and imposing. The whole thing feels nothing like Bali, and has no local authenticity. The food was poor and very expensive. There was water in the rooms. This doesn't seem to be a start-up problem with a new hotel, but the ongoing problems of planning and poor oversight. We had booked for 3 nights but we found so terribly wrong that we went after only 1.
